Annular Eclipse Photos - October 14, 2023
Eclipse Photos Animated

On Saturday October 14, 2023, there was an Annular Eclipse of the sun. This occurs when the moon appears in front of the sun. Because the moon is near its apogee, or when the moon is farthest from the earth, it does not block out the complete disk of the Sun. When this happens, it is also called the Ring of Fire Eclipse. We were in Bluff, UT for the eclipse and we were near perfectly centered on the eclipse path. Here are a series of photographs showing the progression of the eclipse They were taken by a camp neighbor and her automatic astrophotography telescope. - Jack, W7JLC
